Key Highlights
Lake Manyara
This is shallow alkaline lake with an average depth of 10 feet and covers two thirds of the park and is the major attraction of the park. The water level fluctuates over time depending on different factors such as the dry season during which the water evaporates
Bird species
Different bird species can be also seen in the national park and these include both migrant as well as native bird species such as flamingos, ostriches, storks, hornbills, pelicans, herons, grey crowned cranes, secretary birds among others
Hot springs
The Majimoto hot springs - whose name technically means "hot water" in swahili can be seen along the western shores of Lake Manyara. The geothermal feature is formed by underground water that passes through hot volcanic magma rocks of the great rift valley.

During the wet season, from November to June, the park transforms into a lush, green paradise with abundant birdlife, including large flocks of flamingos. While wildlife viewing can be more challenging due to the dense vegetation, the scenery is spectacular, and there are fewer tourists.
